PGD or PGT

I’m trying to understand how insurance coverage works for PGD or PGT when someone travels abroad for fertility treatment. If a person lives in Germany but plans to undergo IVF and genetic testing in Ukraine, would their regular health insurance ever cover part of the costs, or is this usually excluded when treatment takes place in another country? I’m also curious whether the medical reason for the testing makes a difference, what documents or approvals insurers typically require, and whether consultations, laboratory testing, and IVF procedures are assessed separately. Would travel insurance have any role in this situation, or is it generally limited to unexpected medical issues during the trip? I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who has looked into cross-border fertility treatment and can explain what questions are worth asking an insurer before making plans.
